SAMULNORI MUSIC GARAK
"NANTA"
IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.^^
<NANTA> is a performance of traditional korean samulnori garak music.
Nanta is the first korean non-verbal performance
that is performed in a kitchen background.
Nanta is an energentic performance
that is well liked by everyone regardless of gender and nationality.
This performance uses equipments inside a kitchen like knives
and chopping boards to create a electricifing sound of beats.
Not only is this performance just a musical piece
but it also incoporates a suprising traditional korean wedding,
stacking of dumplings with the audience, a mixture of garak music and samugo dancing, and a dynamic drum finale to its piece.
Since October of 1977,
not only has Nanta has been the longest running show in Korea
but it has been the most attended show as well.
With the continuance in upgrades of ideas and muscial pieces,
the quality of the performance has always gotten better.
At its first performance abroad, Nanta was accreditted with the best performance at the 1999 Edinburgh Festival Fridge.
